You can prevent Gmail from automatically signing on at your small business workplace in two ways: from your Gmail account page or your Internet browser’s toolbar. Both methods produce the same result. However, deselecting all automatic sign-in options via your Google account page is ideal, as it is comprehensive. Deselecting all sign-in options from the account page prevents automatic sign-ins and contributes to protecting your online privacy by disallowing access to your Gmail account when you are not signed in.
Google Accounts
1.
Navigate to the Google accounts home page and deselect the “Sign in” option.
2.
Click “Tools” and choose “Options” from the drop-down menu.
3.
Choose “Privacy” from the sidebar menu and click the “Cookies” tab. Click the “Clear Cookies Now” button.
4.
Click “OK.”
Firefox
1.
With Firefox open, press “Alt” on your keyboard for two seconds to bring up the Firefox toolbar. Click the “Tools” tab.
2.
Select “Options” from the Tools drop-down menu and choose “Security.” Click “Password.”
3.
Deselect the “Remember Passwords” option if selected in the Options dialog box.
4.
Click “OK.”
Internet Explorer
1.
Click the “Tools” tab. Select “Internet Options” from the Tools drop-down menu.
2.
Click “AutoComplete."
3.
Deselect the “Usernames and passwords on forms” and “Prompt me to save passwords” options.
